Obsessions
This section is closely knit with my collection page, Whatever Your Heart Desires. While my collection page showcases my collection, this section keeps track of what obsessions I have been through.
X-men

Uncanny X-men #300
|
My first real obsession had to be X-men. It began by watching the X-men cartoon on FOX and then my siblings and I went into a comic book store in Cerritos for the first time. We bought this comic, X-men #300, and that was the beginning of our allowance vaccuum for about three years. We collected all the X-titles, such as X-men, Uncanny X-men, X-Force, and X-Factor, plus any X-men spin-offs, like Gambit and Deadpool. We also got into the comic cards, collecting entire sets of X-men and Marvel trading cards. We still have nearly all our collection. It's very unfortunate that comic books are worthless. I could have been rich by now if they actually went up in value like everyone said they would. Obsession Status: OVER

Power Rangers

Johnny Yong Bosch
|
In high school, I was very much into the first two to three seasons of Power Rangers and I was particularly obsessed with Adam the second Black Ranger and second Green Ranger. Adam was played by Johnny Yong Bosch, quite possibly the only male celebrity I think is good-looking. The year that the "Power Rangers Movie" came out, I went to McDonald's every week to get the Power Rangers promo toys and I also collected action figures of the Black Ranger. I'm still in the Johnny Yong Bosch fan club but I only occassionally check for updates. Johnny Yong Bosch was one of the voice actors in the new "Akira" DVD. Obsession Status: OVER

Popples

Prize Popple
|
Once I got into college and obtained the power of the credit card, I bought and still do buy a lot of things that I'm obsessed with. I started off with Popples. I only had one Popple growing up, Prize Popple, and now I have one of the largest plush Popples collection in the world. I have collected all the Popples that were ever made in the U.S. in the 80's and many that were made in other countries. Popples toys came back to the market in 2001 but I decided not to collect these new Popples. My obsession with Popples has definitely died down. I don't have the desire to get ALL the 80's Popples anymore and I decided not to buy more. Obsession Status: OVER

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon poster
|
Sailor Moon was the next obsession of mine. I've liked Sailor Moon since I was a senior or junior in high school but it wasn't until college that I did big spending on it. I slowly collected all the Japanese episodes of Sailor Moon and then I got into filling my wall space with posters. I collected so many posters that I ran out of wall space. It isn't until recently that I started looking at Sailor Moon posters, particularily manga ones, again in appreciation of the art. I have also collected all the English and Japanese manga volumes and six out of seven art books. Obsession Status: CONTINUED LATER

Puffkins

Baldwin the Eagle
|
During the Beanie Babies rage, I wasn't much into Beanie Babies because I found them horribly ugly. However, I fell in love with another type of beanie, Puffkins. I collected over 35 Puffkins my second year in college until I finally realized I would never collect all the ones I wanted and stopped collecting. I eventually sold my entire collection, except for a few favorites. Obsession Status: OVER

Pokemon

Burger King Pokemon Toys
|
In Fall and Winter of 2000, I started collecting Burger King Pokemon toys. During the promotion, I ate at Burger King three times EVERY week. Since then, I can never eat at Burger King. I decided from then on that if I wanted to collect fast food toys, I would just buy them on eBay. First, I got all 6 of the Gold-plated Trading Cards. Then, I started collecting the toys I thought were cute. I got most of those too and have a bookshelf filled with these Pokemon toys. I also have several Pokemon plush, including Charizard, squeaking Pikachu, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, 2 Clefairy, 3 Togepi, and Bellossom. My bedsheets also feature the Gold and Silver Pokemon. Hedgehogs

Cute Hedgehog!
|
Hedgehogs are my favorite animal. Why? Hedgehogs are absolutely adorable! I have had two hedgehogs as pets. (You can read more about them in on my Pets Page.) I still find my hedgehog, Peach, adorable! I also have a couple of hedgehog plush but I don't actively collect hedgehog items. Obsession Status: I LOVE MY PEACH!

H.O.T

Moon Hee Jun
|
In February 2000, Irene and Michelle got me started on listening to H.O.T, a Korean group. I watched the music videos and Hee Jun became my favorite member of the group. In March, we went to their concert and an autograph session. Here's the picture that I had Hee Jun autograph! Though I still appreciate their music, I'm not as crazy about them anymore. (I was NEVER as crazy as Michelle and Irene were, no matter what you may hear from them!) Obsession Status: OVER
