Girls, summer will soon be here, and that means a lot of work. Yes, the rise in temperature is amazing. But, you can’t just stroll into the summer sun without doing a bit of personal grooming first. In the winter, you could cover up and mask those blemishes, but you’d die of heat exhaustion if you did that in the middle of July.
Because women’s grooming is hard work, you need to find the easiest and most effective tips and techniques to get your in tip top shape for the months ahead. If the thought of spending half your summer in the bathroom getting ready to go out turns your stomach, check out these beauty tips.
Heading to the beach for a couple of days? Or, maybe going on holiday for a week or two? You have to plan wisely to make your life easier. If there are a few of your friends going, talk to each other and divvy up the responsibility and share the workload. After all, they will appreciate it just as much as you. Decide who’s going to take the hairdryer, who’s got the shampoo and conditioner, and who’s got the sunscreen.
Holidaying has never been as easy.
You can’t have the same comforts in a hotel in Ibiza than you can at home. Still, this doesn’t mean that you can’t look as good; you just need a few life hacks. Baby wipes are an essential part of any girl’s beauty routine. They quickly remove any makeup, no matter how long it has been on, and leave skin moisturised and looking healthy.
Plus, you obviously want to have a bit of a tan before you hit the beach. But, self-tanners are messy and hard work. Pre-soaked tanners in disposable towels are easy to apply and incredibly neat and tidy.
Shaving sucks. It is never enough, and it always leaves your skin irritated and feeling unhealthy. There is an easy alternative because all you have to do is buy a razor with built-in shave bars. You can lather, shave and moisturise all in one simple step. Before you know it the hot pants won’t seem as daunting at all.
If the entire shaving process is too much for you, there are other options such as permanent hair removal. It is a little bit drastic, so you have to take the decision seriously. But, if you decide it is for you, check out Remington and Tria hair removal systems for two of the best on the market.
Hair is the worst in the summer; you just don’t know what to do with it. To get the best from your hair, start your routine in the shower by choosing the correct shampoo and conditioner. Next, start drying immediately with wide tooth combs that work through wet hair and push out excess moisture.
If you just can’t be bothered sprucing your hair up during the day, wear it casually. The top knot is uber stylish this season and looks great.
Nobody’s perfect. Everyone has a flaw somewhere on their body. Imperfections are a natural part of life, and you shouldn’t be embarrassed by them. Having said that, some people find it harder to deal with imperfections, than others. Whereas someone may be comfortable with their imperfections, someone else might want to cover them up. Here are a few ways to deal with some of the most common imperfections:

A lot of women complain about having bad eyebrows. They could be too thick, too thin, not shapely enough. For some people, dealing with this involves shaving them off and then drawing them on. Of course, you can do that if you want, but you’ll lose some of the actual functions of the eyebrows. You can also look to thread and shape your eyebrows by yourself. But the best course of action is to go to a brow bar. Brow bars specialise in all things eyebrows and can get you that perfect look
One of the main issues for women are breast sizes. Some women feel self-conscious about the size of their breasts. There’s no ‘perfect breast size’ for women to have, and there’s nothing wrong with small boobs. A lot of women see small boobs as their biggest imperfection. Your breast size is natural but if it upsets you then you can take some measures to counter it. A good push up bra can make your breasts seem a size or two bigger and put your mind at ease. If you want to go extreme then there’s always breast implant surgery. There are many breast implant sizes, and you’ll need to pick one that suits your body. You can’t just go for the biggest there is! Check out this article ‘What To Expect From A Cosmetic Surgery Consultation’.
As you get older, you start to develop more wrinkles. Wrinkles plague every woman at some point in their life. Dealing with this minor imperfection can be easy. All you need is a good anti-ageing/wrinkle cream to help fight off wrinkles and keep your skin looking nice. Again, you can go that one step further and look for cosmetic surgery. Botox is the most popular procedure to get rid of wrinkles and make you look young forever. If you do choose this route, be warned; too much botox can leave you looking like a plastic figurine.

Lips are a facial feature that frustrate many women. You’re either born with full, plump lips, or thin, pale ones. Thankfully, trying to make our lips look fuller is a simple task. All you need is your favourite lipstick and a few handy tips and you can transform those lips. Our lips can also become cracked over time due to cold weather. A good lip balm can fix dry, cracked lips and add a nice shine too.
Remember, imperfections are normal.Try not to beat yourself up about tiny things. I realise though, that they can cause a great deal of stress. Which is why I hope this post has provided you with some tips/advice on how to deal with common imperfections..
If you’re planning on having cosmetic surgery, you’ll have a consultation beforehand. The consultation is designed to lay everything out on the table, so you know exactly where you stand before going ahead with the procedure. If you’re frightened, there’s no need to be. That being said, he’s what you can expect to help ease your mind:
The Benefits and Risks
In your consultation the surgeon will talk you through the benefits and risks of the treatment. They should put emphasis on the risks of the treatment, as these can happen to anybody. With a nose job, for example, you may need to have further treatment if something goes wrong with your breathing. There are multiple things that could go wrong with each treatment you consider, so you must be sure you’re OK with the risks and willing to chance it. Hopefully your risks will be significantly reduced if you make the effort to find the best surgeon; a surgeon from http://www.robinsoncosmeticsurgery.com/robinson/ could be a good idea!
Expectations vs. Reality
The surgeon will discuss with you your expectations and what the reality of the situation is. If you say you want your nose to look like Britney Spears, they will hopefully be straight with you and tell you that they can’t magically transform your nose into somebody else’s nose. They can simply change yours to, hopefully, make it look better. They should get a good idea of whether you’re doing this for the right reasons at this point too.
No cost is ever going to be the same. It all depends on the person, your situation, where you live, and the surgeon you pick. The cost will vary. However, your surgeon should give you a set price during the consultation. This way, you can decide if the treatment is something you can afford and are willing to pay for. Payment plans are common, but it’s likely you will resent having to pay this fee month after month eventually.
Aftercare should be discussed in detail during the consultation. They should tell you what to expect, how long it will take to recover, what you need to think about, and more. They should tell you what activities you can and can’t do, and whether you’ll need to take any time off work. There’s a lot to think about, whatever the size of the surgery you are having!
The consultation is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you have regarding the surgery. It will probably help you to write down your questions and take a pad with you, so you’re not overwhelmed by information. It’s all a lot to take in! By taking a pad and writing it all down, you can look back on it later.
Hopefully, this post has eased your mind and helped you to understand a little more about consultations. You are still free to change your mind at this point, so don’t feel pressured if the surgery isn’t something you want to go through.
Kylie Jenner caused a stir recently when she admitted that she had been having lip fillers – or ‘temporary’ lip fillers, as she called them (to make it sound less serious). After all, she is only 17. She’d been telling fibs for a while, claiming that it was due to the fact she’d grown up and used clever makeup techniques. In fact, she’d even written on Twitter that she was getting sick of everybody talking and that she was deeply offended by the claims. However, only a fool would have believed her; she went from having paper thin lips to Angelina Jolie lips in a flash. Due to Kylie’s big lipped look, many people are considering lip fillers. But should you go for it? Here’s what you need to know…
There Are Alternatives
You shouldn’t go for lip fillers right away if you haven’t tried the alternatives. There are a couple of things you can try first. They may be enough, or you may want more of a permanent solution, but at least you tried first. You could use a ‘fullips’ or ‘candy lips’ device, which plumps up the lips using suction. You can usually go as full as you like with the help of these things, but the results won’t last very long. Maybe 1-5 hours. You can also try a plumping gloss, which will tingle once applied. Some say the effects last longer than the suction devices, but each person is different. You may have second thoughts about whether surgery is right for you after trying these methods.
If you’ve decided that you want lip fillers, you’re going to need to be OK with the side effects. You may bruise and bleed a lot. You might not get the desired look you’re going for. There are a few different products that can be used, but each one will react with a client differently. You will get plumper lips, but you might find one product makes your lips ‘bumpier’ to some degree. It’s a case of trial and error.
Cost of the Treatment
The cost of the treatment totally depends on what area you live in and the experience of your surgeon. It could cost you a few hundred or a few thousand! Think of all of the other things you could buy and make sure you’re OK with spending it on your lips instead.
Finding the Right Doctor
Instead of booking in with any old doctor, make sure you find the right one for you. Look at portfolios and results you like, and ask lots of questions. Dr Halpern of Tampa Bay Plastic Surgery, Inc. says you should take your time over this process so you’re happy with your results.
Reasons for Having Lip Fillers
Your reasons for having lip fillers need to be sensible. If you think you’re ugly, it’s unlikely that lip fillers will fix that. You’ll more than likely end up wanting more stuff done afterwards. If you simply want fuller lips because you think they would suit you, then go ahead. Just know that this isn’t a magic procedure.
With this information, you should be able to make the most sensible decision for you. Good luck!
Gross beauty problems… We all get them, however much we don’t want to admit it. Most of the time, these dilemmas are far too embarrassing to ask our friends for advice. After all, who wants to talk about dandruff or pimples during lunch with the girls? Don’t worry though, no beauty dilemma is too gross for this guide! Here are some of the most gross beauty dilemmas and how to solve them.

It happens, okay. Sometimes we have no idea why it happens, but it does. Flaky head skin can be one of the most embarrassing beauty issues to talk about because it conjures up images of dirty hair. Most of the time, you don’t get dandruff through being dirty so don’t worry. In most cases, it is to do with irritation and sometimes it may even be a medical problem. Try using an anti-dandruff shampoo to soothe your scalp first of all. If that doesn’t work it could be a skin issue, which you can talk to a dermatologist or doctor about. They’ll be able to prescribe a medicated shampoo that will clear those flakes in no time.
Not only do ingrown hairs look gross, but they can be uncomfortable too. If an ingrown hair gets infected it can turn from a red spot into a pus-filled sore; not the most attractive look on the beach. This issue usually arises from shaving and is when the follicle gets clogged up with dead skin cells. Yummy! There are some ways you can prevent ingrown hairs, including using a balm designed for after shaving. You could also consider laser hair removal. If you do fall prey to these nasties, then use a pair of tweezers to gently coax the hair out. Whatever you do, do NOT try to pop the little red spots that appear. Sometimes they’ll just disappear by themselves, but if you keep getting them it may be worth seeing a doctor. Some skin conditions can be mistaken for ingrown hairs.
Even the word fungus makes us feel a little bit sick, never mind what it looks like. However, fungal nail infections are quite common and don’t mean you’re a grubby person. If you often damage your nails or skin, or wear shoes that make your feet hot and sweaty, then you could be prone to toenail fungus. Usually curing this would involve a trip to the doctors, but there are some over the counter treatments out there. There are products out there which are rated quite highly. Take a look at the ZetaClear reviews for an idea of what you need to be looking for in a toenail fungus treatment. Hopefully, you’ll be able to paint your toenails again very soon!
The most common beauty dilemma in the world! The angry red pimple is one of the hardest things to cover up and always seems to appear at the worst of times. There are plenty of ways to stop this from happening, including eating cleaner and drinking lots of water. However, if you’ve tried all you can and they keep appearing, then there are plenty of products on the market to help combat the pimple. Just don’t pick it, whatever you do.
These are some of the most common gross beauty dilemmas that nobody likes talking to their friends about. Hopefully, this guide will come in handy the next time you come face to face with an embarrassing beauty problem.
The warmer weather is upon us, which means the summer shoes are out! I physically can’t let anybody look at my tootsies unless I’ve given them a quick pedicure beforehand. Let’s be honest; feet aren’t pretty. There is literally no such thing as a pretty foot. You can make them look a little better with a pedicure though, so that’s what I do! Here’s how I give myself a pedi from home:
Clip and File Nails
The first thing I do is clip and file my nails. I do this really carefully because I know how easy it is to go too short – ouch! I always clip in a straight line and file straight across too. I do get rid of sharp edges with the file, but I don’t make them too round as it can cause ingrown toe nails.
Now, I get ready to relax for 10-15 minutes in a nice foot spa. I make the water really warm and a little soapy. Be carefully if you have the type that massages the feet – they can make bubbles overflow if you use too many! I always clip nails before soaking as the water will make nails too soft and it can damage them.
Push Back Cuticles
Now that my cuticles are nice and soft, I push them back with an orange wood stick or cuticle pusher. If they need it, I apply a little cuticle cream remover. I get rid of as much as I can to make sure I can paint the nail as close to the skin as possible without touching it. Feet always look so much better with tidy cuticles.
Get Rid of Dead Skin
Now is the perfect time to get rid of that dead skin, but you must be carefully. You should never scrub too hard or grate too much off. You can easily make your feet bleed and they’ll be very sore the next day! Be sensible or you won’t be able to walk. At this point you can also tend to any nail problems you may have. I always try to find the best OTC toenail fungus treatment as this can be a recurring problem for me (gross I know, don’t judge me!). Read the instructions properly!
Use toe separators and bit of kitchen roll to separate the toes and begin to paint. I always use a base coat, 2 coats of colour, and one top coat. Leave each coat a little time to dry in between. Applying coats too soon or too thickly can mean your toes take hours to dry. Try to get as close to the skin as you can without touching it. This usually takes practice to get spot on. A nail corrector pen can be a lifesaver if you get a little bit on your skin.
Apply Oil and Cream
Next, apply a drop of cuticle oil to each nail. This will nourish your cuticles and stop any little knocks from affecting the polish. Apply cream to your heels and other dry areas, but avoid touching the toes.
Now it’s time to relax! Let all of that goodness sink into your skin while your polish dries. Toenail polish can be a pain to dry, so I make sure I haven’t got anything planned for a while. I usually like to pop Netflix on with a cup of something hot.
I hope you enjoy giving yourself a pedicure as much as I do!
With Spring starting at last, you may be making the most of the better quality of light in your bathroom mirror. With the better light comes the horror of seeing what terrible things winter has done to your face! The harsh weather and central heating have left it dry and dull. With no sunlight for months, your color is pasty and pale. It is definitely time for a Spring makeover, so let’s find those problem areas and see what we can do:
Lips – Your poor lips have probably been chapped all winter despite oodles of lip balm. First, get the magnifying mirror out in the bright light and check for any little hairs around the top one. If they are there, get out the wax quick! Once you have sorted out the area around the lips, give them a plumping with some daily exercises. Rolling them together improves the circulation and gives them a gorgeous glow. Check your teeth are white, and then dare to set the rouge upon those luscious lips of yours.

Eyes – Poor diets in the winter can lead to dark circles, so start a detox and clean up that diet with all the yummy fresh produce that is available at this time of year. You may be reaching that age where those puffy eyes are getting a tad droopy. This Spring may be the perfect time to book in for some eyelid surgery to get your eyes back out from under them. Use some concealer around the eyes before applying shadow and mascara. Tame those eyebrows with a good tweezer too.
Cheeks – If your skin is looking dull and dry, now is the perfect time to cleanse, tone, moisturize and apply some gorgeous Spring blush colors. Most of us look great with a rose pink shade, but some of us can get away with deeper reds that look incredible. If your skin needs a bit more attention, look to exfoliating or getting a professional facial to slough off all the dead cells from winter.
Forehead – The winter blast has probably left a permanent frown on your face. If your wrinkles between and above your eyebrows are ever more prominent, treat yourself to some great anti wrinkle creams and get them back under control. There are some facial exercises you can try to see if it will help as well. Take some relaxation classes so you can spend the rest of the year frown free and worry free.
Nose – Winter brings lots of pollutants to our skin and most of them clog up the pores on our nose. This results in unsightly blackheads and oily shine. Your nose may look a permanent shade of red as well. Caffeine can actually worsen this problem so switch to green tea and apply some tea tree oil to the problem area. Cleanse your nose and T area twice a day to keep on top. Don’t over moisturize the area if it is prone to shine, but keep yourself hydrated to keep the skin as healthy looking as possible.
For most of us, our wedding day will be one of the most special days in our lives. We spend months planning the entire day out in meticulous detail, choosing the perfect wedding dress and fantasizing about just how amazing our wedding day will be.
And, of course, we want everything to be perfect. From the groomsmen’s ties and the bridesmaids gowns to every note in the entrance music, every last detail must be just how we imagined it.
So, it is no surprise that just like the rest of our wedding day, we want our hair and makeup to look perfect. But what is the best way to ensure that as we walk down the aisle, we look absolutely perfect?
To help you look and feel beautiful on your wedding day, we have put together some beauty tips below.
1. Take care of your skin
If you want your skin to look radiant as you walk down the aisle, it is important to put a skin care routine in place prior to the big day. Especially as, with so much to organise, stress-induced breakouts and flare-ups are inevitable.
Every night before bed, make sure to take off all makeup using natural antibacterial makeup remover. Such as a tea tree, witch hazel or aloe vera based makeup remover. Avoid using makeup wipes, as they are not good for your skin. Stick to a makeup remover or cleanser that is applied to the skin and removed with a clean flannel and warm water.
2. Moisturise and drink lots of water
Your skin always looks its best when it is adequately moisturised and hydrated. To keep your skin well hydrated throughout the day, make sure that you are drinking at least one and a half litres of water.
Don’t go to bed without applying a nice, rich moisturiser, this will soothe and hydrate your skin while you sleep. In the morning, after cleansing your skin with a cleanser and warm water, make sure to apply day cream. This will help to keep your skin hydrated all day.
3. Exfoliate everywhere
Instead of just exfoliating your face, before your big day you should be exfoliating your whole body. If you want super soft skin, that is.
Exfoliating your skin can help to remove dead and dull skin cells from the skin’s surface, making it soft and super smooth . Leading up to your wedding day, you should be exfoliating your entire body once a week and your face two to three times a week.
4. Choose your makeup carefully
When you are choosing your makeup for your wedding day, there are lots of things to consider. Naturally, you want to look and feel fantastic, and you want your makeup to look picture perfect, but what about the style of makeup?
Think about the makeup style would you like – natural, glamorous, elegant? Think about the type of look you want. Do you want to use waterproof makeup, just in case? Get some ideas for the kind of look you want and then discuss them with your makeup artist.
If you can’t afford a makeup artists, have a look online for wedding makeup ideas and online tutorials for how to create certain looks, etc.
5. Pack a quick fix bag for the wedding
Pack a quick fix bag of bits for the wedding reception. Pack some bits and bobs, like makeup, nail polish to touch up your nails, deodorant, and breath mints, so that you can quickly fix any problems.
A healthy glow from inside out is something that most of us wish we could achieve every day. Sometimes when I have a day where my skin looks dull or in bad condition, I’ll look at ways to improve it and get that healthy glow back again. Here are just a few of the things that work well to get that healthy spring glow.
First you should look at the way in which you take care of your skin. A good starting point for creating that healthy, glowing look is to make sure that you have exfoliated all of the dead and dry skin from your face and body. Don’t forget to exfoliate your lips as this will leave them soft, supple and ready to create that perfect pout. More celebrities turning to surgery to get their perfect look, but do you need to go that far? Watch as Dr. Holcomb performs a facelift in Sarasota to consider all of your options.
Next, take into consideration the importance of a good moisturiser. You don’t need to spend a fortune on one, but do your research and find one that works well for you. You can often buy small tubs or travel sized samples. Take advantage of these as a great way to try them before you buy a full-sized version.
Next up is your foundation and makeup application. Create a good base by using a high-quality primer. Sweep this over your skin and follow with a light reflecting foundation. You can buy various different products that will help to capture the light and show your complexion off in the best possible way.
Contouring is the new beauty craze of the moment. Celebrities are doing it, bloggers are doing it and we’re all hesitantly thinking about doing it ourselves! The truth is, if you get it right, contouring can be amazing. You can create a sculpted, flattering look. However, if you get it wrong, you could end up looking a little worse for wear. Take your time to earn about all of the techniques before you get in there and start wielding your brush around like a mad woman! Add a touch of highlighter to your cheekbones and brow bone for a polished finished look.
To finish the whole thing off, you could invest in a good bronzing powder. There are some beautiful bronzer palettes on the market right now that not only do the job, but look great on your dressing table! A good blusher can make all of the difference. Benefit do a fantastic range of blushers to suit every skin tone. Test them out first in your local drugstore though as there are always plenty of samples on the counter. This is a great way to make sure that you’re picking up a colour that matches your skin tone perfectly.
Drink plenty of water and get out there in the fresh air as often as possible, and this will also help your skin to look its best. Consider using makeup with high SPF to protect your skin if you want to keep it healthy and blemish free. I look forward to hearing how you get on!
Our skin is one of most beautiful features. We do our best to look after it and ensure that we always look our best. However, sometimes we’ll have a breakout or a skin problem that won’t allow us to look our best. Here are a few top ways that you can disguise or improve flawed skin and get back to feeling great about yourself.
First we need to look at the ways in which we can prevent our skin from having issues in the first place. Look at ways to try and tackle your skin problems before they become too bad. This will ensure that you can keep on top of your skincare and avoid breakouts and skin problems in the future. Some top preventative tips include the below.
Drink more water
Drinking water is the obvious tip here. It will help keep your skin healthy and hydrated and it also aids concentration. If you are busy at work all day then drinking water or juice will help improve your mood, concentration and your skin.
Have a break from makeup
Having a break from makeup sometimes can be a good thing. We all love beauty products and looking our best, but sometimes our skin just needs to breathe! Giving our skin just a little time out can sometimes make all the difference.
Clean your brushes
This is so important. Cleaning your makeup brushes can help stop the spread of bacteria and spots. Germs and bacteria can breed on our brushes and after a period of time they will collect dead skin and grease. Wash them with a little warm soapy water or buy some makeup brush cleaner.
Throw away old makeup
Even if an item of makeup is your favorite, you still need to throw it away when it gets old. Think about what you are putting on your face or near your eyes.
Tattoos and scars are one area where it is important to take care. If you have a tattoo that you now regret, all is not lost. You can either cover it up or take some real action to remove it. A simple google search of terms like tattoo removal in Chicago or wherever you are based will give you a good starting point. You don’t need to feel like you are stuck with a tattoo that leaves your skin flawed. There is usually a solution that will help your confidence.
Breakouts of acne can be annoying, painful and embarrassing. Try using tea tree products on your skin and avoiding scrubbing areas of acne. Gently dab any areas that are affected and use a clean cloth each time. This will prevent the acne spreading to other areas of your body and halt the bacterias breeding.
You can purchase some great concealers that will cover up areas of acne, scarring and blemishes on the skin. Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is a great starting point. If you have red skin then a green tinted base is also beneficial.
