Searching for "skin"
For most of us, our wedding day will be one of the most special days in our lives. We spend months planning the entire day out in meticulous detail, choosing the perfect wedding dress and fantasizing about just how amazing our wedding day will be.
And, of course, we want everything to be perfect. From the groomsmen’s ties and the bridesmaids gowns to every note in the entrance music, every last detail must be just how we imagined it.
So, it is no surprise that just like the rest of our wedding day, we want our hair and makeup to look perfect. But what is the best way to ensure that as we walk down the aisle, we look absolutely perfect?
To help you look and feel beautiful on your wedding day, we have put together some beauty tips below.
1. Take care of your skin
If you want your skin to look radiant as you walk down the aisle, it is important to put a skin care routine in place prior to the big day. Especially as, with so much to organise, stress-induced breakouts and flare-ups are inevitable.
Every night before bed, make sure to take off all makeup using natural antibacterial makeup remover. Such as a tea tree, witch hazel or aloe vera based makeup remover. Avoid using makeup wipes, as they are not good for your skin. Stick to a makeup remover or cleanser that is applied to the skin and removed with a clean flannel and warm water.
2. Moisturise and drink lots of water
Your skin always looks its best when it is adequately moisturised and hydrated. To keep your skin well hydrated throughout the day, make sure that you are drinking at least one and a half litres of water.
Don’t go to bed without applying a nice, rich moisturiser, this will soothe and hydrate your skin while you sleep. In the morning, after cleansing your skin with a cleanser and warm water, make sure to apply day cream. This will help to keep your skin hydrated all day.
3. Exfoliate everywhere
Instead of just exfoliating your face, before your big day you should be exfoliating your whole body. If you want super soft skin, that is.
Exfoliating your skin can help to remove dead and dull skin cells from the skin’s surface, making it soft and super smooth . Leading up to your wedding day, you should be exfoliating your entire body once a week and your face two to three times a week.
4. Choose your makeup carefully
When you are choosing your makeup for your wedding day, there are lots of things to consider. Naturally, you want to look and feel fantastic, and you want your makeup to look picture perfect, but what about the style of makeup?
Think about the makeup style would you like – natural, glamorous, elegant? Think about the type of look you want. Do you want to use waterproof makeup, just in case? Get some ideas for the kind of look you want and then discuss them with your makeup artist.
If you can’t afford a makeup artists, have a look online for wedding makeup ideas and online tutorials for how to create certain looks, etc.
5. Pack a quick fix bag for the wedding
Pack a quick fix bag of bits for the wedding reception. Pack some bits and bobs, like makeup, nail polish to touch up your nails, deodorant, and breath mints, so that you can quickly fix any problems.
Summer is just around the corner and thoughts of lazy summer afternoons, floaty dresses and sandals are on the horizon. But wait, what sort of state are your feet in after being cooped up in boots and wellingtons all winter long? Don’t fret! My super guide on how to get your feet beautiful in time for summer will help.
Our delicate feet don’t get the attention they deserve in the winter months. Many women have admitted to hardly even washing them during the colder months of the year unless they become particularly smelly. This is a bad move, treat your feet as you would any other part of your body that is visible. Take a nice long shower or bath and make sure to firstly scrub your feet followed by an intensive exfoliation session. One of the best ways to do this is to get a nice foot scrub from your favourite vendor. The best ones are usually tea tree and peppermint scrubs, they clean off your feet brilliantly and leave them smelling fresh. If your feet are quite dehydrated consider using a sugar scrub instead as salt dehydrates. Remember, once your foot beauty care begins, don’t stop – make sure to exfoliate them at least once a week. Keep a pumice nearby for use after your bath or shower.
Give your nails a nice trim, being careful not to remove too much of the nail, that can leave them looking horrible and also create problems for you later down the line. If your nails are yellowing and brittle, it can be a sign of a fungal infection. You can buy Zetaclear online here to help removal.
If your feet haven’t seen the light of day since around September, they are going to need some serious TLC. Use a good quality moisturiser on your feet and nails. Allow this to soak in and then before bed apply a good layer of Vaseline to your feet before popping them into bed in some nice 100% cotton socks. These will keep the moisture in and help to repair any damage the harsh winter has caused to your feet.

Like any other part of our skin, your feet need protection from the sun. Many people think because the skin is tougher that you won’t cause damage. This is wrong, and you should always wear some form of sun protection on your feet while out and about in the Summer months. This will prevent them becoming burnt and ageing excessively.
Salt can as we mentioned before have a bad effect on your feet. This is also true if your diet contains too much salt. Steer clear of the processed foods and avoid adding any at the table to give your feet the best possible start to the season.
Now your feet are looking gorgeous you need to keep them that way. Remove nail polish as and when and give yourself enough time to clean, exfoliate and trim. The key is to ensure you moisturise and also treat and cuts and grazes as soon as possible.
We all dream of having an effortlessly clear complexion. Unfortunately, very few of us are blessed with naturally flawless skin; most of us have to work hard for it. Our skin is exposed to many environmental factors such as the sun, wind and pollution on a daily basis that all have an effect on the condition of our complexion. It is up to us to protect our face from these elements by following a robust beauty regime and leading a healthy lifestyle. If you want to do what you can to get a clear complexion, here is your guide to doing so.

1. Deal with stress effectively
It is not a coincidence that when you have an important event on the horizon, whether it’s your wedding or a job interview, you often experience a breakout of blemishes. If your stress levels are consistently high, this can wreak havoc with your complexion. Stress can also lead to a lack of sleep which, as we all know, leads to visible problems with our skin such as bags under our eyes. It is important to incorporate stress management techniques into your lifestyle. For example yoga and controlled breathing may help you deal with stress effectively and leave your skin looking and feeling radiant.
2. Be mindful of your digestion
Impurities in the skin are often the result of digestive problems. Poor digestion can arise from a number of dietary issues. Perhaps you are eating a high number of dairy products, drinking too much alcohol or eating food that you may be sensitive to, like gluten. If you suffer from poor digestion, and complexion problems as a result, your doctor may able to help you work out how you can amend your diet to deal with these issues effectively.
3. Use good quality products
Many skin care products available include problem ingredients that have an adverse effect on our complexions. Some ingredients block the pores that contribute to blemishes or they strip the natural oils from the skin leaving it dry and damaged. It is important to educate yourself about your skin type and any skin conditions you suffer from so you can use the right products for you. You should also become knowledgeable on the ingredients in skin care items that you should avoid. Good quality products may cost you more money, but they will improve your complexion.

4. Deal with permanent marks
Unfortunately, there are only so many preventative measures we can take. We all suffer from permanent skin marks due to ageing or skin conditions. However, many of these blemishes can be dealt effectively. For example, you could introduce some skin conditioning products like a whitening cream mask into your regime that can treat age and sun spots. Visible blood vessels can be dealt with using laser and other light therapies. It is worth contacting a dermatologist if you permanent marks that are causing you stress.
A clear complexion is achievable by all with a little effort, a few lifestyle changes and some appropriate products or treatments.
So, you’re planning on heading off for a girl’s night out, and of course you want to look your best. But, for some reason you never end up looking quite as good as you want to… Don’t worry, that’s where we come in.
To help you look your best, we have come up with some handy beauty tips that are perfect for a girls’ night out. To find out more, have a read of this.
1. Choose the perfect outfit
Before picking out an outfit think about where you are going and what type of style would work best. For example, for a night out on the town a little black dress would be perfect, but for dinner and drinks a pair of skinny jeans and a nice top would be the better option.
Choose an outfit that you feel comfortable and confident in, such as your favourite dress. Don’t be tempted to wear something that you don’t feel happy in, as you may spend the evening feeling self-conscious, instead of enjoying yourself.
2. Pick some jewelry
Once you have your perfect outfit picked out, the next step is to use your jewelry to add some extra sparkle to your look.
Before you choose your jewelry, think about your outfit. If you have opted for a plain dress or top, then bold and bright is the way to go. However, if you have opted for more colorful design, subtle jewelry is probably the best option.
A necklace, a pair of earrings or clip on earrings and a bracelet are all essential, no matter what outfit you are wearing. However, the outfit you have chosen will delegate what style of jewelry you should wear.
3. Apply your makeup
Before doing anything else, start by applying a moisturiser to your face. Make sure to cover your entire face, including your mouth and around your eyes. As you apply your moisturiser, use your fingers to gently massaged your skin – this will stimulate your blood flow and give you a nice glow.
Before you start applying your makeup, give your moisturiser a good five minutes to properly sink into your skin.
To ensure that you makeup stays on all night, start off by applying a primer. Not only will primer make your makeup stay on for longer, it will also reduce skin shine and give your face a matte look.
Once you have finished applying your primer, then follow this up with concealer if needed, and foundation. To even out your skin tone, opt for a liquid foundation and blend it into your skin thoroughly.
To set your makeup and keep it in place all night, gently apply some pressed powder to your face. Make sure to take special care of the area under your eyes.
Apply a subtle shade of eyeshadow from the lash line to the crease of your eye, and then use a darker tone of eyeshadow in the crease and blend upwards. To add a touch of glamour to your eyes, carefully apply a black or brown eyeliner to your waterline. Follow with two coats of mascara to make your eyelashes look long and bold.
To make your eyes look bigger, use an eyebrow pencil to enhance the look of your brows, and use tweezers to get rid of any stray hairs.
4. Do your hair
Don’t be tempted to leave your hair until the last minute, as that’s when you end up in a mess.
Give yourself at least 40 minutes to play around with your hair and get the look right. Especially if you are trying a style that you haven’t done before.
Self-image is a fragile thing. It seems to link to confidence and self-esteem. People with a good self-image tend to be confident people and vice versa. In contrast, those with low self-esteem tend to have a bad self-image. You might suffer from a bad self-image and be looking for ways to try to improve it.
The first thing to do is stop reading glossy magazines and comparing yourself to the people in them. These magazines are awful for self-image as they teach you that you’re too fat or too thin. Too ugly or too pretty. Too rich or too poor. It’s just not helpful and is a constant negative influence on your life.
Instead, your focus needs to be on improving your self-image. You want to be able to look in the mirror every day and be proud of who you are. With these steps, you can help rebuild and improve your self-image.
A makeover will help you improve your self-image. This is something that can help a lot of women to feel more attractive. But many of them never consider that as a possibility. You will find that a makeover from professionals may make you look better than you ever have before. And this doesn’t need to cost a lot of money. You can visit various makeup counters at any department store, and you could get a makeover done. You might also consider getting your hair done too. Looking good promotes a healthy and positive body image and boosts confidence and self-esteem.
Get Your Teeth Done
A lot of people don’t like their teeth, and that can give them problems with self-confidence. Teeth can stain or become crooked, and this can make people self-conscious. If you feel like you need to get work done on your teeth then you might want to search for a Denver dentist. Even something as simple as a clean and polish, or whitening can have a profound effect on your teeth. Get yourself a dazzling smile that will have you turning heads and catapult your self-image.
Changing your wardrobe is another plot on the graph when it comes to boosting self-image. If your clothes look dated and unfashionable, this can shatter your confidence. You can consult fashion experts or ask friends who dress well to help you. Get rid of all of your garish and outdated clothes. Go out shopping with a friend and spend time trying on outfits. You need to like them as well. Find out the best kind of outfits and clothing that suit you. You will need to account for your body type, height and skin tone as not all outfits will suit you. But once you find the right ones make sure you get them. You will be surprised at how much you can boost your self-image just by having better clothes.
Cut Out Negativity
One of the most important things you can do for yourself is to cut out the negativity in your life. If there are people or environments in your life that bring you down remove them from your life. If you have an acquaintance who is knocking your self-esteem and image then stop associating with them. If there are events or environments you frequent that don’t make you feel good about yourself, then stop going. If your job is affecting your self-image then maybe it’s time to get yourself a new job.
People say that if you want to know a person’s true age, look at their hands. Washed and dried on a regular basis and exposed to the sun and snow, they get their fair share of use during our lives. As we get older, the skin on our hands becomes thinner, making them look fragile. As time goes on, they also become wrinkled and speckled with age spots. Most of us will spend substantial time and money on night creams, day creams and serums to make our faces look youthful. However, we don’t give a second thought to the biggest giveaway of our age. With a little effort, it is possible to delay these visible signs of ageing. Here are our secrets to younger looking hands.
1. Protect your hands from the sun
The biggest contributor to ageing skin on our hands is the sun. Regular exposure to the sun causes the skin to wrinkle and damages it in many ways. Most of us are in the habit of protecting our faces each day by applying sunscreen but it really important to include your hands in this routine. Look for a quality SPF hand moisturizer and apply to your hands daily. Yes, it’s another stage to add to your already lengthy beauty regime, but trust us it will make a difference to the look and feel of your hands.

Your hands should regularly be exfoliated; once a week is sufficient. The skin on your hands is delicate, so use a gentle exfoliating product. Alternatively, use a completely natural method by mixing equal parts of sugar and olive oil and massage this gently into your hands. Leave the mixture on your hands for as long as possible for maximum benefit. Rinse and pat dry. This will leave your hands feeling soft and looking beautiful.
Although you are now applying an SPF moisturizer to your hands on a daily basis, this may not be enough. Every time we wash and dry our hands, we strip them of moisture. So, it is a good idea to get into the habit of applying moisturizer after you clean your hands. Additionally, during the colder months, your hands will require extra moisture to cope with the harsh conditions. Whenever your hands feel tight and dry, don’t wait; apply hand moisturizer straight away. For this purpose, it’s a good idea to always carry a handy-sized hand cream in your bag.

4. Maintain a healthy lifestyle
By eating the right foods, regularly exercising and quitting smoking you will improve the skin on your hands as well as all over your body. Check out websites like antiagingworld.net that provide information on how to lead an anti-ageing lifestyle. Some of the best foods for nourishing your skin include oily fish, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and leafy greens. Have a look here for more information on foods that will benefit your skin.
The conclusion is that you must be kind to your hands to keep them looking young. It may require a little effort, but incorporating these secrets into your everyday routine will give you healthy, younger-looking hands.
Unlike us ladies, men spend a very small amount of time grooming themselves. A typical man’s daily beauty regime involves a shower, a splash of aftershave, maybe some moisturizer and if they’ve got time, a quick comb of the hair. Most men are simply not interested in spending time each day pampering themselves. And because they are not interested, most men are unaware of the many benefits that can come from spending a little time on their skin and hair. When the nose hair becomes unsightly, and the fingernails are dirty it might be time to pass on some of these quick and easy beauty tips to your husband, boyfriend, brother or Dad.
I can’t imagine living a life without moisturizer; for practical rather than vanity reasons. During the winter especially, our skin gets dry, cracked and irritable, and moisturizer is the most helpful way to deal with this. Many men don’t bother moisturizing even during the winter months. This makes their skin look unhealthy, and feel very tight. Moisturizing each day will lead to healthier, softer skin. Additionally, wearing a daily moisturizer with SPF will protect their skin against damage from the sun and keep them looking younger for longer.

Evening face wash
Washing your face at the end of the day is crucial for achieving clean and healthy skin. But many men don’t bother. Each day cosmetic and environmental oil and dirt settles in the pores. If left alone, bacteria will accumulate on the surface of the skin and can lead to a breakout of spots. There are many face washes designed for men that use natural products. An exfoliating product is a good choice as this will also deal with dead skin, leaving the skin looking and feeling soft.
The man in your life should be using good quality shaving tools and products to avoid skin damage and irritation. Suggest a shaving foam and aftershave balm that uses gentle and natural ingredients rather than cheap and potentially harmful products. A soft bristled shaving brush and a quality razor will also help to achieve a smooth finish. In terms of body hair tips and ideas, if the chest hair needs to be tamed, a good pair of clippers used in the direction of the grain on dry hair will help. Applying a body lotion post trim will hydrate your skin and ease any redness. For unruly back hair, waxing is the best option. No pain, no gain as they say.
Dirty and ragged finger or toe nails are never a good look. When neglected, bacteria and fungi breed under the toe and fingernails which can sometimes cause stomach bugs when they come into contact with the mouth. Yuck! Perhaps if they were reminded of this fact, the man in your life would be more willing to regularly clean, clip and file his nails. If he does a lot of weight lifting he may have course, calloused hands. These can be softened by soaking in warm water and gently rubbing with a pumice stone.
I hope these tips encourage some guy grooming!
We all want to look instantly younger and more radiant. There’s a huge cosmetics industry dining out on that fact. So save yourself some money and get instantly more radiant with these three top tips for beauty.

Drinking the required amount of water (2 litres) a day is a fantastic way to perk up your skin. And perkier skin makes you look radiant and feel great. Water is essential to our bodies; it aids circulation, increases digestion, absorption and even excretion. Your skin is the very last organ in your body to see the benefits of the water you drink, so if you go without, your skin suffers. It becomes dry, tight and flaky. When skin is in this condition, it is more fragile and wrinkles quickly. Not a radiant look. Applying a moisturizer straight out of the shower and making sure you drink eight glasses of water a day are all great steps towards a more radiant you.
If you need a quick fix of radiance, cold water is also your friend. Splashed on your face, the temperature causes the blood vessels to constrict and makes your skin look smoother. It just doesn’t have a lasting effect unfortunately!

The eyes are the window to the soul. They are also the first thing that suffers if we skip sleep or stop looking after ourselves. Using an eye cream at night is a great way to keep the skin conditioned and reduce wrinkling. There is also a variety of creams on the market that, used daily, can address the dark circles under your eyes that result from late nights and stress. Check out the hydrolyze review for a good example.
It is also worth mentioning the importance of taking your time with your morning routine. Using an eye cream in the morning as well can open up your eyes and help to wake you up properly ready for the day. Gel-based creams are the best for reducing morning puffiness. Choose a cream which contains peptides and caffeine and place it in the fridge overnight to get the full advantage.
No time to change your routine? Get an instant effect by curling your lashes. This opens up the eye and makes you look bright eyed and bushy-tailed – even if you aren’t properly awake yet.

The reality is we are what we eat. The skin is one of the organs responsible for eliminating toxins in the body. If you load your body full of salt, fat and chemicals, the other eliminating organs become overloaded, and your skin has to work twice as hard. The outward signs of this differ from person to person. Some people suffer itchy red rashes whilst others get breakouts. Chances are you probably know which category you are in, and what foods cause it, by now. So stop eating them! A glass of lemon juice in the morning can help to flush out your body and kick-start your liver. Detox by drinking lots of water, eating fresh and organic produce and cutting out high sugar and salt foods. It’s amazing how quickly you will see a difference in the quality of your skin when it doesn’t have to battle toxins every day.
It can be easy to get stuck in a rut during the colder winter months of the year. We are often tempted to stick with what we know, rather than branch out and try some new styles and looks. Winter fashion and beauty can be bold and daring and you don’t have to sacrifice your own personal sense of style in the process.
Statement Jewellery Pieces
Jewellery can be a real conversation starter, and during the winter months it is a great way to accessorize oversized jumpers to make them look less bulky and more feminine. Gold jewellery is especially on trend for the winter months as it goes perfectly with darker clothing and looks really festive. If you have piercings, why not try rocking some edgy new body jewellery from PiercingMania. Earrings and belly-button jewellery really allow room for the exploration of different jewellery designs.
From time to time it really does pay to have a serious make-up clearout. Winter is the perfect time to make some new purchases and there are plenty of sale bargains to be had at this time of the year. Try using products with argan oil to keep your skin soft and supple this winter and create the perfect base for your makeup to be applied on to. Dark, smokey eyes are great for colder months of the year and can create a seriously sensuous look in just a few minutes. The Urban Decay Naked Palettes are perfect for creating on trend looks in record time and have been raved about by bloggers worldwide!
A Splash of Color
Just because the weather is cold, it doesn’t mean that you have to stick to dark colors in your wardrobe. Vamp up your style by adding a pop of colour. Try a bright necklace or a bag in an eye catching design to accessorize up with. You can find some great ways to match colors by looking online for color matcher tools and adapt them to suit your needs.
Decide whether you are looking for the perfect designer shoes to make a real statement, or a cheap and sensible pair to wear to the office. Some shoe fanatics have been known to plan their whole outfit around a good pair of shoes and consider them to be the most important part of creating a stylish look. Look out for warm but edgy boots to keep your feet dry this winter. A good pair of biker boots and some killer earrings would make for an excellent way to really stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons this season.
Owning Your Style
Whatever you choose to wear and wherever your style takes you this winter, remember that confidence is key. Be proud of who you are and what you wear and the rest will follow. Keep your skin clear and hydrated by drinking lots of water and not overindulging too much on the Christmas treats and your body will thank you for it this year.
If you have recently been pregnant or managed to lose a lot of weight, the toll on your body may still be showing. Injury, illness, pregnancy and excess weight affects our skin in many ways. In fact, our skin may still be showing signs of changes within us on the outside.
Injuries can cause the joint to swell with fluid. This stretches the skin and adds to the pain as we are healing. Illness too can leave us bloated or dehydrated. The skin gives us away every time and is a good way for a medical professional to determine if something is wrong with us. When we are pregnant, the skin has to stretch considerably over a short period, and can become damaged. Equally, when we lose weight quickly such as when we diet or give birth, the skin does not recover quickly, if at all.

Damage to the surface of the skin from acne, insect bites, cuts, burns and grazes also take their toll on the quality and appearance of our skin. Our skin is an amazing organ, protecting us in many ways every day, but all that hard work can leave its marks. Nobody wants to see anything but flawless skin, so when our skin is marked, we feel obliged to hide it.
There are ways you can look after your skin to prevent permanent damage and marks. Keep hydrated inside, and moisturise your skin on the outside. Eat well, so your skin cells are fully nourished from your diet. The younger your skin is, the easier it is for it to heal. Elasticity is key for some marks like stretch marks. Treatments like TriLastin-SR stretch mark cream can help improve the appearance of this kind of marking.
If you are thinking of having a baby, you may want to get a head start and protect your skin. Start a rigorous buffing and moisturising routine around your belly and hips. You will get bigger, but you can help your skin stay as elastic as possible by keeping it hydrated and rejuvenating the skin with gentle buffing. Perhaps you are considering a drastic diet or slimming surgery. You may also want to start a similar routine to keep the skin looking refreshed as what is underneath starts to shrink away.
Substantial excess skin may need to be surgically removed, but this is rare. Instead, look after your skin, and keep in mind, it may look a little deflated for a while. Some new moms who have stretch marks after pregnancy feel proud that they have earned their ‘stripes’ through their pregnancy. This is a positive approach to natural processes that may permanently leave a mark on your body. There is no need to feel ashamed.
If you are looking for a solution to sagging skin or skin that is marked, you may want to try surgery. Alternatively, you may want to think about dressing to make the most of what you do like about your body. We all have bits we dislike, but none of us is getting any younger!
